I Want to be Famous for my Work!

Ilham joined Riyo Rumoday in 2020 after graduating from the vocational training program conducted by our non-profit partner.

Ilham’s father passed away several years ago, and she is one of ten other people living in her household, seven of those her siblings (four girls and three boys).

Before Ilham worked with Riyo Rumoday, her brother was the only one who brought home a salary for the family of ten. Now Ilham works with Riyo Rumoday and can provide her family with money that contributes to her family’s needs.

When we visited her family in February 2021, her mother exclaimed, “I am so very happy for Ilham and her job. She is my daughter who does a good thing!”

Ilham is smart and sharp. She works hard and won’t let others push her around. She is goofy and not afraid to be herself. She is also an excellent sewer, and one of the three artisans who made the Silk Scrunchies!

She wants to continue developing her skills through the artisan group and hopes to one day be famous for her work.

Favorite Food: She loves pasta and fish and loves to cook.

Interests: She enjoys reading English books to try and learn English. She enjoys going to picnics at the beach and she dreams of traveling to different countries.
